More reviews with a QR code: what works
Where to get the review link, when to ask and which wording stays within platform rules.
Where to get the link
| Platform | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Business Profile → Ask for reviews → copy link | |
| Tripadvisor | Management Center → Get reviews → review link |
| Yelp | Business page → share the review page URL |
Point the code straight to the review form, not your profile. Every extra step — open the listing, find the tab, tap the button — loses people.
When to ask
Right after the positive moment: dessert is finished, the repaired phone is collected, the parcel is unpacked. That is why codes work on receipts, bill folders, package inserts and near the exit.
How to ask
- Short and human: “We value your opinion”, “How was your visit?”.
- No discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews — most platforms forbid incentivised reviews.
- Do not ask specifically for five stars — an honest request builds more trust.
If you are on several platforms, do not print three codes side by side. Pick the main one for your market or link to a simple choice page.
