A valentine with a QR code: five surprises
What to hide in the code, how to keep it private and how to design a card people want to scan.
What to hide
- A song or playlist — a link to a music service.
- A video message — a cloud clip shared by link.
- A photo album — your story in a shared folder.
- A letter — a long text on a page or a short one right in the code.
- Coordinates — the place you first met or a surprise dinner.
Privacy
A text code stores the message in the pattern and needs no internet, but anyone who scans the card can read it. For personal videos and photos use “anyone with the link” sharing so they never show up in search.
Make a treasure hunt: several cards with coordinates, and the last code leads to the gift.
For cafés and shops
In early February codes for romantic dinner bookings, gift catalogues and dessert pre-orders work well — tables for the evening sell out early.
