Email QR codes: structured enquiries
How to fill in the address, subject and body so messages arrive organised and never get lost.
What opens
The code stores a mailto link with recipient, subject and body. After scanning, the phone mail app opens a prepared message — people add details and send.
Why the subject matters
Messages with the same subject are easy to filter. Set up a rule in your inbox and enquiries from a trade show, warranty claims and product feedback sort themselves into folders.
| Scenario | Subject | Prompt |
|---|---|---|
| Warranty repair | Warranty: model ___ | Describe the fault and attach a photo of the receipt |
| Job application | CV: barista | Attach your CV and suggest a time to talk |
| Product feedback | Feedback on my order | What did you like and what should we improve? |
Treat the body as a prompt, not a finished message. Leave blanks for people to fill in — the replies become far more useful.
Limits
- No attachments through the code itself.
- If mail is not set up on the phone, the system asks which app to use.
- Long body text makes the pattern dense — keep it to a sentence or two.
