QR codes at school: fewer questions from parents
What to turn into codes at the start of the school year and how to handle personal data carefully.
What to turn into codes
| Material | Where to place the code |
|---|---|
| Class and bell timetable | Classroom door, planner, hallway board |
| Class chat | Parents’ evening, starter pack |
| Reading and supply list | Summer notice |
| Clubs and activities | Activities board |
| First-day photo album | Card for pupils after the event |
Personal data
Anyone walking past can scan a code on a classroom door. Never link it to lists with names, phone numbers or grades. Hand out chat invites at the parents’ meeting, not on a public board, and revoke them once everyone has joined.
For materials that change during the year use a permanent page or folder — no new code for every timetable update.
Graduation
A code on the last page of the yearbook opens a cloud folder with photos and videos — and still works years later as long as the folder exists.
