WhatsApp QR codes: chat without searching

How the chat link works, why a pre-filled message helps and where these codes bring the most enquiries.

How it works

The code opens a link like wa.me/447700900123. The phone launches WhatsApp and opens a chat with that number, even if it is not in the contacts.

Enter the number with the country code, digits only. The generator strips spaces and symbols, but check the country code: without it the link opens the wrong number.

Why add a message

  • “Hi! I would like to book a haircut” — on a salon card.
  • “Order from the trade show stand” — at an event booth.
  • “Question about my delivery, order #” — on packaging or a receipt.

Different messages for different placements work like tracking tags: the first line tells you whether it was the flyer or the window.

Where to place it

Wherever a question comes up: on a price tag, a workshop door, a delivery card or a “for sale” notice. For business accounts use the same number as your WhatsApp Business profile.
