Which QR code fits your task
Data types, file formats and the settings that decide whether a code scans on the first try.
Twelve data types
| Type | What happens after scanning |
|---|---|
| Link | Opens a website, a menu page, a profile or a file |
| Wi-Fi | The phone offers to join the network without typing a password |
| vCard | The contact is saved to the address book in one tap |
| Text | A message appears on screen — even offline |
| Phone and SMS | Opens the dialler or a ready-made message |
| Opens an email with the address, subject and body | |
| WhatsApp and Telegram | Opens a chat or a profile in the messenger |
| Event | Adds the meeting to the calendar with date and place |
| Location | Opens the spot in maps |
| Crypto | The wallet receives the address and amount to send |
Which file to download
| Format | When to choose it |
|---|---|
| SVG | Print shops, banners, outdoor ads — a vector that scales without losing quality |
| PNG up to 4096 px | Websites, decks, social media and office printing |
| JPG | Messengers and services that do not accept PNG |
| A4 sheet or PDF | Table cards, stickers and badges — several codes with cut lines |
Settings that affect scanning
- Contrast. Modules must be clearly darker than the background. Not every camera reads a light code on a dark background.
- Error correction. Level Q suits almost everything; with a logo in the centre choose H so the code survives the overlap.
- Quiet zone. Leave an empty margin of at least four modules around the code.
- Data length. The shorter the link or text, the larger the modules and the easier the code reads from a distance.
The indicator above the preview decodes the finished image the same way a phone camera does. If it is green, the downloaded file scans too.
A static code lasts forever
Every code here is static: the data is baked into the pattern with no service in between. It will not stop working, show ads or ask you to renew a subscription. If the address may change, point the code at a permanent page and update that page instead.
